The World seems to be going Nuclear(Blessing or a Curse)

With the way Nations seem to be interested in going Nuclear it should be a growing cause for concern.
Nuclear weapons posses enormous destructive power from nuclear fission or combined fission and fusion reactions, scientific breakthrough made during the the 1930s, the United States, the United kingdom and Canada collaborated during World War II in what was called the Manhattan project to counter the suspected Nazi German atomic bomb project. In August 1945 two fission bombs were dropped on Japan ending the Pacific war. Shortly thereafter the Soviet union started development with their own atomic bomb project, and not long after both countries developed even more powerful fusion weapons known as "Hydrogen Bombs".
Designated nuclear weapon Nations include United States, United Kingdom, Russia, France and China. Other Nations with nuclear weapons includes India, Pakistan, North Korea. Nuclear weapons sharing Nations are Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey (NATO).
With all these in mind one would wonder what the future holds in say 15 - 25 years from now, would other Nations grow interest in joining the nuclear weapons program???  If this is the case perhaps we should be expecting what i will like to call "NUCLEAR WINTER" of course not forgetting the recent Rocket Missile Launch by North Korea which has been largely condemned by World Leaders all over the world including China, North Koreas trade partners.
If such provocation should continue by the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after sanctions have been imposed on them, only God knows the repercussions although the handwriting seems to be on the wall not also forgetting Iran and their interest in building Nuclear facilities.
