BRING BACK OUR CORRUPTION

Everything has changed, right? The price of crude oil in the international market, pump price of fuel, value of the Naira compared to the dollar and temperature. Yes, temperature. It's becoming unbelievably hot these days so much that I've made my balcony my new bedroom. Let's digress a little bit.

EDWIN'S LAW OF RELATIVITY.
On recent evidence, it seems that an increase in the value of a dollar with respect to the Naira, is directly proportional to temperature, provided CHANGE is constant.

Forgive me for coming up with a mathematical expression for this(I'm an engineer and I just  couldn't help it).

D~T
To introduce a sign of equality, we introduce a constant(remember what they say about CHANGE? It is constant).
D=cT

So an increase in the value of dollars would give rise to an increase in temperature.
Maybe this explains why we've been finding it hard to sleep at night for sometime now. But that's a topic for another day. So back to the matter at hand.

Nine months ago, the country was brimming with optimism. Of how Archangel Buhari has been sent to purge our beloved country of all it's evils. Creating three million jobs per annum, curbing insurgency and insecurity issues, equating $1 to #1, fighting corruption etc - these were the crème de la crème of his campaign promises. Reasons why we opted to give our votes in his favour. It turned out to be that everything was just propaganda.

Propaganda is when as a president, you appoint FOUR media advisers and NO, I repeat NO economic adviser given the dwindling economic fortunes of the country. Propaganda is when even after over 200 days in office, the GEJ administration is still blamed for our current plight. Propaganda is when after all the pre-election Anti-corruption crusade, nothing tangible has come out of it. With the way the anti-corruption wave was blowing, one would be forgiven to think that the election of PMB(President Muhammad Buhari) was the biblical second coming of Christ.

It was all propaganda anyways because a public declaration of assets was what PMB promised when elected as Nigeria's no 1 citizen. We're still awaiting the fulfilment of that promise. I for one was thinking that by now, the problem Nigeria would be having would be the insufficiency of prisons because the prisons ought to have been filled up to it's brim with politicians aplenty. The Amaechis, the Rochas Owelles, the Allison Maduekes etc all are all free men. Some have even been given high offices in the Federal Government. How pathetic!

"I will destroy Boko Haram in six months. I will create a three million jobs per annum"
      - President Buhari

Instead of jobs being created, Federal Government workers are even getting sacked. The exact opposite of what was hope for. The Boko Haram sect didn't just continue to
rain terror  after PMB's appointment, they waxed greater in strength. Even going toe to toe against the Nigerian Army at some point.

Just as bringing back the Chibok girls and creating three million jobs per annum were expensive jokes mistaken for promises, So was the joke of equating $1 to #1. When GEJ became president, dollar was equivalent to #165. He left office with a dollar equating #210. A #45 increment over a span of nearly six years. We all blamed GEJ for how dumb and stupid he was. PMB inherited the dollar exchanging for #210 and just 9 months in office, a dollar is now valued at #385. A whopping #175 increase!

This present administration seems a tad clueless. The nation is plunging deeper and deeper into the miry clay of economic meltdown. It's almost March and the country's budget for the year has not yet been officially released.
With recent proceedings, all facts and happenings are pointing towards the notion that we need corruption in this country because we strive better in it. In the era of corruption, petrol was sold at #87 per litre, a dollar was a little above #200. Fast-forward nine months into the Dawn of Change and Anti-corruption and it's hard to fathom out how planned this administration is and the policies it has in store for the betterment of this country.
God help Nigeria
